Biographical Sketch:
He left college in 1881 to go to Colorado, where he remained some 13 seasons, during 10 of which he was engaged as a mining engineer and in charge of large mining interests. Returning to Michigan, he located at Ann Arbor, entered the newspaper field, becoming editor and publisher of the Ann Arbor Democrat ( later the Argus-Democrat). He sold his interests in the combined papers soon after October 1898.
