Biographical Sketch:
He came to Michigan with his parents, George W. and Ester (Day) Farr, in 1854. In 1859, he removed to Ohio where he worked on a farm. He returned to Michigan in 1864 and became a clerk and bookkeeper. In 1866 he accepted the position of confidential clerk and cashier in the banking house of Isett , Kerr & Co. , of New York city , remaining with the firm until they dissolved partnership in 1868 , when he again returned to Michigan . In 1870, he became manager of the lumber and mercantile business of Porter & Co. at Onekama. In 1882, he organized the Onekama Lumber Co. and also owned and operated a large stock and fruit farm. He served as justice of the peace, supervisor and president of the village of Onekama.

Died of heart disease and bronchitis.
