Biographical Sketch:
Son of William and Elizabeth (Payne) Bastone. He worked in a gardening business before emigrating. Came to the US settling in Wayne Co., MI, in 1857 and worked on a farm. In 1873, he moved to Almer Twp., Tuscola CO. Was elected Supervisor of Almer 7 times, serving as chairman 1 term. He served as master of a Masonic Lodge and High Priest of Caro Chapter. He was nominated for the office of Senator in 1890 by the Industrial Party and endorsed by the Democrats. He resigned July 3, 1891.
