Biographical Sketch:
Son of Shepherd and Mary Ann (Upton) Weter. After leaving school, he rented a farm and farmed for 7 years. He moved to Richmond, MI in 1885. At that point he used his saving to start a business, Weter, Fanning Co. [wholesale eggs]; and president of the Macomb County Savings Bank of Richmond. It became the largest exclusive egg business in Michigan, of its time. In the 1890s, he was vice president of Consolidated Hay Bale Tie Co. in Richmond, MI. He was president of the Macomb County Savings Bank of Richmond. He served as president of the village of Richmond for 6 years and president of the board of trustees. Member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and Maccabees {K.O.T.M.].
