Biographical Sketch:
Son of Morgan & Isabella (Monteith) Curtis. Taught 3 winters in Kalamazoo Co. Worke dthe family farm for 19 yrs. President of the Kalamazoo Agricultural Society. Moved to Petoskey in 1882 and bought an interest in Wachtel & Quinlan, a banking house. This later became the Petoskey City Bank and then First National Bank. He had timberlands and built mill in Grand Marais. He owned a cattle ranch in South Dakota as well as property in Minnesota. Elected president of the village of Petoskey. Member of the Masons.

1st President of the village of Richland, MI. According to Senate Resolution No. 43, 1913 Senate Journal, p. 252 he had died. No date or place of death given.
