Biographical Sketch:
Moved with his family at age 12 to Wood Co., OH. There he worked the family farm summers and attended school winters for 4 years. He tookover the operation of the farm when his father was incapacitated. After he married he and his wife moved to Ottawa Co., OH in March, 1881. His first wife and one child died there. In 1882 he remarried. In 1888 he moved with his second wife, a daughter and 2 sons to a farm in Bloomfield twp., Isabella Co., MI. He served as justice of the peace, school inspector and highway commissioner. In 1896 he was a candidate for sheriff. According to House Resolution No. 14, 1944 House Journal, p. 41, he died 1/10/1944 in Deerfield Township, Michigan.
