Wayne Schools Global Geography Project 2.0

This social studies project will facilitate a deep and enduring understanding of the relevant concepts and skills of 6,7 and 9 grade social studies with critical overview of K-8/9 social studies standards for contextualization. The content materials to be covered will encourage teachers to develop compelling questions and plan creative and innovative lessons using disciplinary tools. The project will offer critical undergraduate credits/courses related to elementary certification, social studies and internships that are transferable and immediately usable towards certification. The project will offer gradate credits to mentor teacher that may be used in any Masters and/or Doctoral program in education in Michigan. The PD training will foster the growth and development of highly qualified master teachers and skilled emerging teachers who are content area experts in social studies.
