MTTC Administrator Testing Requirement Update – Effective 08/31/2026
Beginning August 31, 2026, candidates pursuing the ES (Elementary & Secondary Administrator) or CO (Central Office Administrator) endorsements must earn a passing score of 220 or greater on MTTC tests MI139 (ES) or MI140 (CO) to meet certification requirements.

Did you know, in addition to subject area tests for a grade-banded endorsement, a Professional Knowledge and Skills Test must be passed to apply for an initial Michigan teaching certificate?
A Professional Knowledge and Skills test is required in the following scenarios:
Effective July 2022, candidates pursuing initial certification for Lower Elementary (PK-3) Education (ZO); Upper Elementary (3-6) Education (ZP); English Language Arts (5-9), (7-12), (BQ); Mathematics (5-9), (7-12), (EQ).
