Located in Clinton County, 1854. Served in the Navy, then Co. C, 1st Michigan Cavalry, during Civil War. Enlisted in Co. C, 2/14/1865, promoted to full quartermaster sergeant. Served as Master of Subordinate Grange No. 439, and of Pomona Grange No. 25. Served on executive committee of Michigan state Grange for six years. Served as commander of "Billy Begole" G.A.R. Post of Maple Rapids. Member of Michigan House of Representatives from Clinton County, 1893-96.
