Born to English parents.
Moved to Michigan in 1882. Worked in the public schools as a teacher and commissioner of schools for over 50 years; 34 years as a teacher and 16 years as commissioner of schools.
Notable Facts:
Democrat and elected to the legislature in 1932, November 6, 1934, 1936, and re-elected November 8, 1938. According to House Concurrent No. 2, 1946 House Journal, p. 6, he died 6/17/1946.
