Biographical Sketch:
Of Polish ancestry. Son of Edward and Lillian Plawecki. He served as Deputy Director of the state Dept. of Labor and Economic Growth. He was a member of the Jaycees; Goodfellows; 16th, 15th, and 19th District Democratic Organizations; Polish Legion of American Veterans and Knights of Columbus. Vice-chairman of Dearborn Heights Democratic Club.
Notable Facts:
Helped create the Open Meetings Act; the Bullard-Plawecki Employee Right to Know Act and the Freedom of Information Act.
He was the youngest senator elected, at 22, to that point.
