Son of Harris N. and Hannah S. (Farrar) Tripp. Located in Commerce, Oakland County, 1862. Studied law under Judge Michael E. Crofoot. Admitted to the bar, 1876. He was appointed probate clerk for Oakland County, 1877-79. Served as school inspector, circuit court commissioner [1878-82] and prosecutor [1884-88]. Delegate to Democratic National Convention from Michigan, 1896. Candidate for circuit judge in Michigan 6th Circuit, 1899.
