attended Northeastern Indiana Leary Institute (Orland Seminary, IN) [1852] and entered University of Michigan, 1859; graduated from Western Reserve College of Medicine, Cleveland, OH in 1867.
Biographical Sketch:
Son of Martha (Stoker) and Stephen Sabin. Enlisted in Company B of the 100th Indiana Infantry Volunteers, 8/15/1862. Fought at the siege of Vicksburg and the battles of Missionary Ridge, Knoxville and Atlanta (1863-64). Final rank was Captain; mustered out in June 1865. Served as regiment adjutant, judge advocate on courts martial and company commander at the Battle of Atlanta and afterwards. Located in Centreville in July 1867, to practice medicine. Served as school board chairman and village president of Centreville. he was living in Nottawa in 1910.
