Biographical Sketch:
Of French and English ancestry. He came with his parents to Oakland County at age 9. He went to McBride, MI in 1878, employed by Wood & Thayer for 7 years, then formed a partnership with a Mr. Lewis and started a general store. After 1 year, he bought out his partner, enlarged the business and built a feed mill. He also acquired control of the only hotel in McBride.
