Biographical Sketch:
Son of Sen./Justice John Warner and Lorabeth (Moore) Fitzgerald. He championed tough sanctions against drunken drivers and stricter seat-belt laws. He also sought, unsuccessfully, to outlaw allowing children to ride in the beds of pickups. Assistant prosecutor in Eaton Co. Served as the first Financial and Insurance Services Commissioner when the 2 commissions were merged. He had a heart attacked at the NY LaGuardia Airport and died
Notable Facts:
Great-grandson of Rep. John Wesley Fitzgerald; Grandson of Gov. Frank D. Fitzgerald and son of a state Supreme Court Justice, John Warner Fitzgerald. 4th generation of Fitzgerald line to serve in state government.
