Biographical Sketch:
Daughter of Omer and Elsie Berube. She was a high school teacher. She served as Leelanau County Commissioner and for 10 years on the Great Lakes Commission. Member of the League of Women Voters; Strong advocate of volunteers. Michigan Mother of the Year 1977.

First woman to serve in leadership posts in the state House, Senate and Executive branch per Crain's Detroit Business 1/13/2014. Could be challenged by Martha Griffith's record. Lt. Governor under Gov. John Engler. The Binsfeld Office Building is dedicated to former Lt. Governor Binsfeld. A memorial service was held in July 2014 in Glen Arbor Township, Leelanau Co., MI
