Biographical Sketch:
of Russian ancestry. Son of Morris Faxon and Pauline (Krimsky) Faxon. He taught history and government at Southwestern High School in Detroit; was headmaster of City School of Detroit; headmaster of the International School in Farmington Hills, a multilingual academy that he founded in 1968. Member, B'nai B'rith; Anti-Defamation League, American Civil Liberties Union; NAACP; Bagley Community Council Executive Board.
Notable Facts:
Youngest delegate elected to the Michigan Constitutional Convention, 1961-62;
Initiated state grant funding for the Detroit Institute of Arts in the 1970s.
